We leave on Sunday 8/20, after being here a month. We reserved late and ended up moving 9 times in a month, however, that just indicates how much we love it here by moving so many times just to be able to stay.
The grounds, restrooms and facilities are all super clean. For the most part, the staff are all amazing and so friendly. We only came across one who has not been the kindest, but we never know one’s story as to why they are in the mood they are in.
We got to know Barbara, Diane & Heather in the office who have been exceptionally kind and helpful to us. Tracy & Sue (and her husband)… and not to forget Willow (Tracy’s fur baby) and so many other camp-hosts have been above amazing and go the extra mile to help when needed. After being here a month, you truly get to know the staff and they are overall outstanding!
This Spring & Summer we have camped from Texas to New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and here to Oregon. We have stayed at many resorts, campgrounds and even Vineyards during our journey. All have been either good, awesome or outstanding, excluding one… Although Winchester Bay Resort has been the most expensive… it is our very, very favorite and so much worth the cost.
Take a walk up to the lighthouse, walk down to Lake Marie and have lunch then walk the mile walk around the lake, visit the many restaurants Winchester Bay has to offer, listen to music at The Blue Box, relax, fish and/or play cards or board games while listening to the seagulls… Winchester Bay Resort is a piece of Heaven on earth ❤️. We have reserved a spot for the entire month of August 2024
They should adjust this RV park to 55+ only. We’ve been full-time RV traveling for a year and this has been a first for us. We were discriminated against for having children, since the moment we arrived our stay felt uncomfortable. Specifically by the “camp hosts” in spot #77, who are oddly positioned right in front of a park made for children. We’ve been respectful of the quiet hours, so a noise complaint in the middle of the day was not warranted. Noise that was nothing more than kids playing/laughing at a normal volume. We’ve had to cut our short stay of 1 week a couple days early due to extremely grumpy staff. We chose to leave after our door was pounded on in the middle of the day (hard enough to give us a scare) by the camp host next door in an attempt to bully us quiet because noise above silence was too loud for him. After bringing it to managements attention, it’s very clear that they choose to operate in a manner to accommodate disgruntled, unreasonable ‘employees’ over paying guests. It’s unfortunate because the views of this RV park are stunning. For as beautiful as it is, their standards for employee living spaces are low, the clutter under and around their space is an eyesore.
Can’t beat the location and price during the winter months. Also nice to not have the place packed, quiet and relaxed. Staff are very friendly and are keeping the place very clean.
Cleanest rv park I’ve ever seen..
each loop has its own showers, restroom and laundry ..
I would always just use my shower in my coach but the facilities were way to nice to not take advantage of!
What a view I had too!
What an absolute gem of an RV resort! Camp hosts are unbelievably friendly and helpful, the grounds are immaculate, and the facilities are SPOTLESS. Looking forward to coming back again!
The toilet paper is almost un available to use with the metal bar they have holing it to the stall wall and when your rv toilet cant handle the tacos from last night your going to need a bigger toilet but the seat covers are non existing so be careful you might have to helicopter that turn into the bowl from 2 feet up goodluck soldiers. So if you have to use there public space bathroom or showers use caution and extreme accuracy. There is graffiti on the walls no soap in the dispenser but the location is awesome and full of natural beauty
It is a great place for full hookup camping, I do not agree with the UTV/ATV policy though. Paying top dollar for a spot and then having to park your $100k toy out where everyone driving on the main road can see it doesn't inspire confidence in your experience. They should allow your SXS to be pulled into your site along with your RV/Trailer.
This used to be our absolute favorite place to go with our RV, but this year that has changed. The new reservation system is a complete customer disaster. After roughly 20 years of coming here for a week to week and a half in August/Sept., we are unable to get a reservation for next year. I’m tired of staying up until midnight to try and be the lucky one to land the one or two sites that come available with no success. Additionally there has been a noisy and often very smelly dredging operation running 24 hours a day for 4 days just a few hundred feet from our RV making sleeping conditions even worse. I very much understand the need to dredge, but would have liked advanced notice that this might be happening so that we could have made a decision about whether to come or cancel. “Sleepless in Winny Bay”.
